WhatsApp is rolling out a new feature. The messaging platform, owned by Meta with over 2 billion monthly users, is launching many new features this October to make your experience even better.
These updates, available for both Android and iOS users, will make chatting easier and more personalised, give you new tools to manage your chats, and keep you safer with image verification.
One of the new features is a tool that helps you check if shared images are real, which is very important in this age of fake news.
WhatsApp is adding a new "Search on web" feature. This new feature lets you search the web for information about images, especially those that have been forwarded a lot. Just tap the three dots in the top right corner of an image, and you'll see the option to search online. This is a big step in WhatsApp's fight against fake news and misleading stuff.
For iPhone users, there's also a big update to the chat widget. Now you can access your chats right from your home screen using the latest iOS widget API. This new widget is way more interactive and keeps you up-to-date with your chats. You can choose a small widget for a single chat or a bigger one that shows up to four conversations. It's a great way to prioritize the chats that matter most to you
Now you can get quick access to your most important chats without even opening the WhatsApp app! This new feature is perfect for people who want to stay on top of their conversations.
WhatsApp is also giving you more ways to customize your chats. You can now choose from over 20 new colours to make your conversations look just the way you want. With 22 different themes to pick from, you can really make your chat interface your own. You can apply these themes to individual or group chats and even use the same theme for multiple conversations while having different wallpapers.
It's even easier to connect with friends and family through video or voice calls on WhatsApp. A new feature lets you create call links right from your chat window, so you don't have to go to the Calls tab. Just tap the attachment menu in your chat, and you can start a group or one-on-one call.
These features are still being tested, but they'll be available to everyone soon
