LinkedIn has just launched a new AI tool called Hiring Assistant. This AI assistant is designed to help recruiters automate repitive tasks like finding candidates, writing job descriptions, and screening applicants. This is the latest AI tool from LinkedIn, following the launch of Recruiter 2024 last year.
Companies like Siemens, Canva, and Zurich Insurance are already using Hiring Assistant to make their hiring process more efficient. LinkedIn believes this AI tool will help recruiters focus on more important tasks, like connecting people with jobs. The AI tool can analyze past applicants from the company's Applicant Tracking System and learn each recruiter's specific hiring criteria to provide more personalized recommendations.
Built with insights from LinkedIn’s 1 billion members, 68 million companies, and 41,000 skills, the AI aims to relieve recruiters by creating personalized candidate pipelines and refining job descriptions. LinkedIn reports that recruiters using AI-assisted features have seen a 44% higher acceptance rate, with faster responses and an 18% increase in InMail acceptance.
However, LinkedIn is facing backlash in South Africa, as the South African Artificial Intelligence Association (SAAIA) has raised concerns over the use of user data for AI training without explicit consent, potentially violating the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).
