Reddit is launching machine learning-powered translations across more than 35 new locales in Europe, Asia, and Latin America, aiming to make its predominantly English-centric platform more accessible to users worldwide. This move follows Reddit's initial rollout of site-wide translation for French speakers five months ago, building on earlier efforts to allow individual post translations.

The new feature enables users to automatically translate both posts and comments from a subreddit’s original language to their own, fostering multilingual conversations without the need for manual translations. Users can post in any supported language, and Reddit will automatically translate the content into the community’s preferred language based on individual settings.

Reddit’s AI-powered translations will also improve content discoverability on search engines, indexing posts in the supported languages, and making Reddit's content more accessible globally. As of today, translation is available in Brazil and Spain, with plans to expand to Germany, Italy, the Philippines, and other Latin American markets in the coming weeks.

This feature comes as Reddit continues to grow its user base and ad revenue, with the goal of attracting even more users by making its content available in more languages.
